Am totally blind and have a new remote control with my VCR/DVD combo machine. Tried marking buttons with dymo tape but the braille came off. Any way to mark the remote control? Any hints appreciated.

Hmmm! Bumpons, if the buttons're big enough for them? Remote controls're a total pain in the... sometimes, but I get along just by the different feel and shapes of the buttons and also the positions of the buttons.

wondered about that. thanks for the hint. there are different shaped and sized buttons and will get a sighted person to read them to me. Thanks again.

Try and note how the controls are organized. How many rows, the shapes of the buttons, etc. Depending on the size of the buttons, velcro can somtimes work, also. I don't know how long you've ben blind, but you might also consider marking only certain controls and using them as reference points.
